Best self improvement books of all time? I will tell you what they are according to me and why. These books will change depending on who you ask. Thus I make it clear that this list is completely subjective. So here comes my personal top 10 best self improvement books of all time. It would be difficult to rank them in order. Instead they are in a random order. I will explain what problem they helped me solve or what I got out of reading these books.
This was my gateway to reading and personal development. It gave me a new perspective on myself and on life. Before reading this book I was lost and had no ambitions in life. I learnt how to do incredible things that I never thought I would be able to. And became ambitious and once again found my happiness through what I learnt in this book. I keep coming back to and referencing things from this book. Even after reading hundreds of other books, this one still stands out as one of the most rewarding reads in my life. And thus it’s on the top of my list of best self improvement books of all time.
This book was not as amazing as many of the others. But it still inspired me and is the one book that actually helped me find my mission in life. Finding your passion or your mission can be one of the hardest things in life. And thus I value this book. And if you don’t know what you want to do or feel like you cannot achieve extraordinary things you should definitely check it out.
This book will give you exactly what it says it will. The skill to not giving a fuck, aside from being a great learning experience it was also a very thrilling read. This book seems very well written and touches on several points that others haven’t talked about enough. I can’t point out one specific thing I learnt from this book. But still it’s one of the best self improvement books of all time.
This book made me realise that I had self-esteem issues that I needed to fix. As well as provided me with the tools to do that. This is the only book that I didn’t finish reading. I only got through half of the book and still rank it as one of the best self improvement books of all time. After reading half of the book I lent it to one of my clients who were struggling with self esteem problems. Because I myself was struggling with similar issues. Giving him the book was more helpful than my coaching. After reading this book I started by journey of improving my self-esteem and understanding why I had these issues. This book changed my life, in just a few pages.
This book is a classic. A must read. You’ve probably heard of it before if not even read it already. It will give you the tools you need to be liked by anyone you meet. Even though it’s written such a long time ago the rules and tips still apply very well today. If you haven’t picked up this book yet, you must. Or if you are struggling with getting along with people, read it again.
I couldn’t pick one of the books because both 4 hour work week and 4 hour body changed my life. The 4 hour chef was also a great book, but rather a dictionary than something you read cover to cover. The 4 hour work week changed how I view work and my outlook on time efficiency and money. And The 4 hour body changed how I think about my physique, both from a training and diet perspective. Tim Ferriss mindset and outlook on life is something you definitely should model. And I therefore recommend you to read as many of his books as you can get your hands on, starting with the 4 hour series.
This is a pretty recent book but it manages to capture most things you need to know about how humans work. The information is applicable to yourself as well as people around you and your relations. There’s no other book that will give you this many insights about how humans work. By reading this book you will develop a deeper understanding of humans and psychology.
This book is all about how you think and your perspective on the world. By reading this book you will see how much you are unknowingly fooling yourself. There’s not much I can say about this book aside from that it changed my mindset on things. I didn’t even know I needed help with. A great book to broaden your perspective.
This book manages to capture many of the most important pillars of self development. Doing so while still telling an interesting relatable story. This is the type of book you can read in one day and love doing so. It captures wisdom from a whole different array of places in a great and easy to understand way. If you have problems getting through thick books with a bunch of facts or academic writing, this is perfect for you. It’s easy to read and very engaging while still packed with important wisdom and knowledge.
Though this book was difficult to get through at the time, I keep coming back to and thinking about some of the things I learnt. If you are worrying a lot or get upset often, you must check this book out. It’s not only me, many people put this book at the top of their best self improvement books of all time.
